Bee is turning over a new leaf…
(on an old tree.)O.K. y’all…. I don’t know how I am going to do this… but I have GOT to do it!
I have got to lose weight! I have never had much success before, I
would lose a little and gain it back… but I was always doing it for
vanity reasons, as much as I tried to talk myself into other more
“noble” reasons to lose… eh… I just wanted to look better. This
was just not that much of a motivating factor for me… I’m not going
to delve into my past baggage, but I just always felt like I was never
going to measure up even if I got skinny, so ya know, why bother? But I was having some knee trouble last week and had x-rays done…
bottom line is I have osteoarthritis in both knees.I know they
were getting more wear and tear than usual because of the constant
muscle knots in my lower back from my fibromyalgia. My back issues had
caused me to walk incorrectly and my knees caught the brunt of it… but
also… I am just carrying too much dang weight! I know things would
improve dramatically if there was not as much pressure on those knees! So to make a long story short I am motivated now! My plan of attack is
to essentially limit my meals to quality proteins, lot of veggies, a
little fruit and nothing “white” (flour, sugar, pasta, rice, potatoes.)
I am also going to be careful about portion control. I am not kidding
myself here, this is going to take a while, (I need to lose about 75
lbs) and I have a feeling I’m going to need all the help I can get! I
would love to find an “online” food diary that could automatically
count up my nutrition as I entered what I ate… does any one know of
anything like that? I know I will also need to incorporate some kind
of “knee and back friendly” exercise… plus check into what vitamins etc.. I should take but I will have to research those and add
them as I can.At any rate… today was my “maiden voyage”…. say a prayer for me… and I am open to any and all advice!
Love, Bee

Bee, I applaud you for wanting to get the weight off!!! Have you considered weight watchers? People have been helped by them so much. And if you don’t have one where you are, you can also do it online now. They have e-tools that will help you figure all that stuff out.

Here’s praying for you!!!
love u…
sparkspeople.com has a lot of GREAT (and free) weight loss tools, food diary and exercise diary, I highly recommend it. I have an account but due to being busy remodeling, I’ve fallen off the wagon.

You may have already seen this next page, but I thought I’d throw it out there

You can do it, Bee! Good for you!
I’m with you on this one! We can encourage each other. I like thedailyplate.com.

Yep, Sparkpeople.com – you can track all sorts of things.
I definitely understand your need and desire. If I could only get motivated myself … *sigh*
I’ve already sent a prayer up. I am in the same boat. I have artheritis in my knees, as well as my hips and shoulders. I lost 65 pounds a number of years ago, and I can’t begin to tell you what a difference it made in my ability and desire to get around. I have recently gained much of the weight back (in the last 2 years) and I am working on it again. It is really hard to stay motivated, even with pain screaming at you to do better, but I keep seeking the Lord, who desires good things for me, and He gives me strength.
The main encouragement I want to give you is that a bad day or meal does not have to mean the end of the diet (or what ever you choose to call it). I fell into that trap all the time, and this go ’round I have decided that I will jump right back on that wagon the very next meal! This mindset has helped me a great deal.
God bless your endeavor!
Hi Bee,
We have fabulous products made by a company called Ultima. You drink 2 milkshake type drinks for two of your daily meals and it’s all natural ingredients. You also have more energy and feel full. Then they have other herbal “pills” that helps your metabolism, breaks down fat etc. With this you need to take a walk for about an hour each day – light exercise.
This works far better for me as the weight I put on was from sitting at a desk the entire day! I hate having to work out what to eat and what not to eat and also having to plan ahead and still make separate meals for the family as well! Such a schlep!
It’s not about looks etc, but about being and feeling healthy – not for anyone else but for ourselves.
Be blessed and my prayers are with you.
