Pros and Cons?
Quick question for you all… (Bee is still working on getting her life together. LOL)
Have any of you tried the Weight Watchers “online” program? If so, what did you think of it? I am “weighing” all my pros and cons.. (har har… rolls eyes.)I went to W.W. meetings years ago and to tell you the truth… I just couldn’t take the humiliation that was used as a motivation technique. (Getting weighed in front of everyone etc.) Plus, sitting through the weight loss “testimonies” was excruciating!! Some gal gets up there and with tears in her eyes tells of how she felt like she was worthless because of her weight, (she didn’t look like the magazines,) but now because of W.W. she has something to live for, her children are no longer ashamed of her, her husband loves her again… blah blah blah… and then everyone claps.
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!… I had blood pressure issues every time I left the place… I wanted to grab these people and shake them and tell them they were more than a body… fat or slim!!! They will never be able to gain their self worth by conforming to the world!! It is a game where you NEVER quite measure up…. And… Dang it… if someone didn’t love them because they were fat… those people have major issues!! Oh… and I could go on and on………..
See… even now I get worked up! O.K. so where was I … oh yeah…. I don’t need to go to those meetings. So what about “on-line” what do you all think?
Love, Bee

never tried it
I’ve looked at the online program and didn’t care much for it. They’re concentrating on what you can have vs what you can’t and that never works. The only thing that worked for me was reading a Nutritional text book I found in the thrift center, reading it and teaching myself what it was I was putting into my body vs what I “should” be putting into it.
LOL ~ sorry, just had to laugh at this. I have all the WW books – if I can just get motivated – I actually have worked out my menu plan – now all I have to do is stick to it. I have never tried the online one…..sorry.
Hey, I go to Weight watchers, it is VERY< VERY VERY different now. Weighing in is private, you only share if you want to your weight loss or gain. The leaders are funny, and the group is supportive. I come away with tons of wonderful ideas from the group. So far I have stuck to the program this time around, going on 8 weeks. It is easier now – the program makes it a lot easier to stick to it. You don’t starve. If you want, message me and I will send you my email address and maybe we can email encouraging comments back and forth. No one can go on a weight loss journey alone, we need companionship. My leader is so funny that we spend most of the meeting laughing. I think you can go for free to a meeting and check it out.
