Important Information!
We must contact our Senators about this ASAP!
(and pray for the United States of America!)
Note: The treaty requires two thirds of a vote in the senate to pass… so there is still time… barely. BTW to find your Senator or representative here is a search engine that will pull up that information specifically for your address.

This must be fought, but as a solace, there are supreme court decisions that prevent the united states from entering into such treaties.

I remember that ruling… and true we have the right not to enter it… but what if we forsake that right? What if by “free will”, (in other words Obama voluntarily signing it) we agreed to it.. wouldn’t we then be bound by that treaty?

One other thing I remembered concerning that above ruling you referenced. If I recall the Governor of Texas Rick Perry issued a statement saying the state of Texas officially did not recognize the UN as an authority over them and so that is why the guy was executed. It was the sovereign right of the state… whether or not anyone else agreed to it or not. Which puts the states in an interesting position. If this treaty is signed and the Federal Govt jumps on the band wagon are we going to see states begin to secede from the union?
@BeeyondSight - Obama can sign whatever he wants, but if he is not empowered as a constitutional officer to perform that function (bind the country) than he is acting outside of his authority. If the POTUS and the Congress place us in a position where the supreme court opinion is not the law, then the act would be illegal and not constitutional.
remember the nafta superhighway? Why wasn’t it built? Perhaps because Oklahama said not in our state.
The ninth and tenth amendment are very strong instruments. To your question…I think health care, cap and trade and some other potential bills are going to see states start refusing funding and sending taxes and declaring their sovereign status. That is not succession. They are declaring it is a federal government, not a national government/
Thank you for posting this for us!! I will be getting in contact with my Sentor in the morning! I am going to place your Link so others can come and see this post! Ty! Again!
@ProvokingThought -
True… there is a BIG difference between a “national” government and a “federal” government!
