  • Flaked!

Well it looks like the Ethiopian officials flaked-out.   We may never know if the Ark really still exists or not.
    To be continued……. maybe.

  • Heard an interesting teaching on this…

In Acts we get this random side story of Philip meeting the Ethiopian treasurer on a road. The treasurer had been in Jerusalem to worship during Passover and Pentecost, but he’s heading home now.

Why does this matter? Theory: Ethiopian ruler heard that Messiah had come and sends treasurer to Jerusalem to confirm if it’s time to return Ark and Mercy Seat. Treasurer finds the one claiming to be Messiah was executed. He’s heading home confused. Interestingly enough, he’s reading Isaiah 53 when Philip finds him.

“Do you understand what you’re reading?”

“How can I if no one explains it to me.”

So Philip, with the Spirit, explains that Messiah indeed came but to be stricken first. Messiah will come again to rule. Then, you can return to Israel and her King what belongs to them.

So, the Ethiopians wait… and have no compulsion to prove to us if they have what they believe they have. They just wait for the One.

Chuck Missler goes into the history of Ethiopia and their Ark legends in his Chronicles study.

Hmmm…. very very interesting! I will have to look into this further… I don’t recall the Ethiopian Eunuch being a “treasurer”. It is definitely a fascinating story! Thanks!

Well, he was a eunuch… which mean he could have been technically a eunuch or he was called eunuch as in government official.

    Jewish New Testament Commentary says:
“Eunuch. Throughout the ancient Near East men in positions of power were often castrated. … The term may also refer generally to a high official.”

Consider, Daniel the prophet was probably a eunuch as he’d been taken from Israel to serve in the court of the Babylonian King (rising to the equivalent of prime minister). His captivity was a fulfilment of Isaiah’s prophecy to Hezekiah:

Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the LORD: ‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and what your fathers have accumulated until this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left,’ says the LORD. ‘And they shall take away some of your sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’” II Kings 20:16-18

Again… just a theory… something provocative to spin in the mind. We’ll know the truth when the time is right.

  • I believe Israel has the Ark, but does get very interesting in reading everyone thoughts…etc.. Have a bless week!
