    “I
am so glad that God is the one in charge of choosing our enemies.  God
knows that without his protection and strength we would soon be
overwhelmed by our enemies.  So our Father and Savior carefully plan
who will be involved in teaching us to trust our God and to become
effectively involved in carrying out his plan for our lives.  Even
Jesus, the Son of God, was surrounded by enemies the entire time he was
living with us here on earth.  It is so encouraging to remember that no
matter how hateful and powerful they were when they swarmed around him,
they couldn’t carry out their plans until it fit into God’s plan.  Even
that final week before his suffering and death, he was attending feasts
that had been prepared for him and his disciples.  Jesus is our example
in understanding the truth he gave us in the 23rd Psalm.

It is so important for us to remember that the Lord’s plan for our
lives and our ministries will include dangerous situations that have
God’s limits.  Even when surrounded by enemies we can, with his help,
enjoy the positives of the circumstances.  Our Savior is there making
sure that our obedience will bring honor to his name and joy to our
hearts and his, as we watch him carry out his perfect plans.  Why
shouldn’t we celebrate his goodness and love as we go through life,
protected and directed by the all powerful Shepherd of our souls.  God
knows that we see the danger and our enemies are quite willing to fill
our minds with all the awful outcomes, but he also knows how he will
overcome these enemies and bring glory to his name.  Then he reminds us
of one more thing.  When we are done here, we will live in his house
safe from all enemies and fear for the rest of time and eternity.  Then
we will look back and see fully the importance of the circumstances
that were so challenging to us during our stay here.  May the Lord help
us to see and enjoy the feasts he has prepared for us now, no matter
how many enemies try to distract us from following our Good Shepherd’s
    direction.”

    Psalm 23:5,6
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of
my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup
overflows with blessings.  Surely your goodness and unfailing love
will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of
    the LORD forever.

    Quake Shift Earth’s Axis?

This was interesting!  The shifting of the earth does not happen quite like I thought it did.

  • Wise Words…

I hope this devotional from Pastor Roy is as much of an encouragement to you as it was to me!

“When the wisest man on earth thought hard and long about who we were
and why we were here, he came to a very simple conclusion.  King
Solomon realized that God had planted us where we are in a body
especially designed for each one of us so that we would fulfill God’s
perfect plan for each of our lives.  People without God lead driven
lives, but the Lord wants his people to eat, drink, and enjoy the work
that God has planned for us this side of eternity.  The key to that
enjoyment is found in a living relationship with the God who planned
our lives to accomplish only what he wanted, no more.  Solomon called
it accepting our lot in life.  The world around us is focused on doing
and getting as much as possible during our life here on earth.  God is
committed to using us to accomplish his plans while we enjoy the good
things that he has planned for us.

When the world is faced with the shortness of life, they feel driven to
get as much done as possible.  God’s kids on the other hand, can
rejoice in the shortness of life on this earth, knowing that we have an
eternity of joy waiting for us when we finish our work here.  Our God
will provide for all of our financial needs and give us the health that
we need to enjoy our work and accept our lot in life.  Our Enemy does
his best to get us to focus on ourselves and what we don’t have, but
our loving Heavenly Father wants us to recognize what we do have and
see it as a love gift that will lead us to a wonderfully fulfilled
life.  If we will just accept our lot in life, our Heavenly Father’s
plan will keep us so busy doing what we enjoy that we will not have
time or interest in brooding over what has been or what could have
been. May the Lord help each of us to accept his plan for our lives and
be content with the lot he has lovingly chosen for us.”

    Ecclesiastes 5:18-20
“It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy
their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and
to accept their lot in life.  And it is a good thing to receive
wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and
accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God. God keeps
such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over
    the past.”
